About Us

First Bank of Lilly was chartered in 1906 by the Comptroller of the Currency and took up shop in the Bender Building on Main Street in Lilly. Since business was growing, the directors made plans to build a permanent building. Then on April 10, 1908, the board approved plans to have a new building constructed on the corner of Main and Cleveland streets, where the bank currently remains. During the Great Depression the bank had some problems but with the hard work from the directors the bank was able to struggle through this period, when many other banks closed, and by the time World War II started, the bank once again was nearing a sound position.

The present CEO, James P. Leahey, was placed in his position in 1992, and he has made strong endeavors to enhance the performance of the bank both in growth patterns and more importantly as an institution in strong support of its community. Much has changed over the years; once paper banking now has become computerized, an ATM is present at the drive thru, and now on-line banking.  One thing that hasn’t and won’t change at our one branch bank is the personal service you receive as soon as you walk into our lobby. We know your face and name, and that is something those big banks can’t promise.
